Stitching Report from The Cozy Quilter

You may have noticed I was missing in action last weekend...I was visiting my daughter and Finn for the weekend!  Finn and I hung out together while my daughter participated in a curling bonspiel. He didn't mind snuggling up to me as I did some cross stitching.  We went for a walk every day too.

I have added three more motifs to my winter cross stitch project.  You can see the cardinal and the pinecone above and this week I finished off the evergreen tree.

There were very nice sunbeams in the afternoons while I was visiting.  Finn ...

What I’m working on from Eagle's Wings Quilts

The disappearing nine patch that I started a couple of weeks ago is now a finished top. I love how fast this pattern goes together. I can take it with me tomorrow to our sewing group, weather permitting, and get it pin basted and ready for quilting. I need to stay stitch around the edges to make sure none of the seams pop open before that. Quilty Catch up from Eagle's Wings Quilts

I’m finally getting around to writing that post about all the quilts finishes I’ve had in the last month or so. Some friends and I are doing a UFO challenge and then there have been a few others as well. My chosen quilt for November was very old Disappearing Nine Patch. The block piecing was started way back in 2010. I sewed the blocks together a couple of years ago and then quilted it the spring of 2019 before I sold the long arm. This quit has a twin to it. They are going out as Christmas gifts ...

Orphan adoption, 2021: make them disappear from With Strings Attached

UPDATE:  The winner of the drawing is Cindy Smith.
Thank you all who entered!

Woohoo!  It's time for Cynthia's spring orphan adoption link up at Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework.   Here is the link  to the event.

In 2012 I gave a guild workshop on "disappearing" blocks.  That was before Jenny Doan brought the design concept to YouTube.  I  kept all the class samples I made -- the raw blocks, initial cuts, assembled blocks, and flimsies. I lent them to a friend to use in a class and she returned them. They've been on a shelf for ...

Busy Week with lots of Sewing! from The Cozy Quilter

I must say that retirement is agreeing with me!  I spent one day this week sewing with members of the Oxford Guild where I worked on the assembly of my Tula Pink 100 Modern Blocks sampler.  They had nice long tables for me to lay everything out for measuring the strips that go between the rows of blocks.  I could not do this at home.  I managed to get almost half of the quilt assembled by the end of the day and hope to finish the quilt top this coming week.

I am still walking an hour every day, even ...
